Meet Dr. Erin Hunt-Carter

Hi, I’m Erin! Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my candidacy. I am running for election as a trustee on the Chelsea District Schools Board of Education, a position I currently hold after being appointed in February of this year.

I’m a wife, mother to two recent CHS graduates (2022 and 2024), a clinical psychologist, and a small business owner. Our family moved to Chelsea in 2015 specifically for the schools. Our children graduated in 2024 and 2022. They were actively involved in theater, choir, robotics and JV & varsity football.

Overall, we have had wonderful experiences in the district. However, we have also encountered areas that could be improved. There is work to be done, and I'm ready to do it.

I am honored to serve on the Board of Education, and with your vote, I look forward to continuing in this role.

As a school board member, my priorities include:

-Excellence in academics and extracurriculars

-Improved physical safety in our classrooms

-Transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility

-Ensuring each student learns the academic, practical, social and emotional tools to succeed in a rapidly-changing, technology-driven world

-Making sure we are meeting the needs of students with plans other than college following graduation

-Supporting a learning atmosphere where every student feels welcome and safe regardless of their identity, background, or level of ability

-Proactively addressing challenges facing our district in an open manner

-Being available to speak to parents, community members and other stakeholders about their hopes and concerns regarding the district
